LCI.....Landing craft Infantry....used to transport troops from Mother
ship to beach.

Elbe Bridge....This is a photo of the bridge on the Elbe river at
Shonebeck constructed by Company C  on April 12, 1945.  Before the bridge
could be completed German fire targeted the bridge causing severe damage.
A German counter attack to seize the bridge was then  repulsed by the
Battalion before abandoning the site.

Footbridge

The famous Truman Bridge built by the 
83rd Division and the 295th Combat Engineers.
The 82nd assumed control and maintenance of
this bridge  on April 17th, 1945.
